The Serena Williams Design Crew (SWDC) was founded in 2020 and is a collective of diverse designers and innovators tasked with creating special products for the range. Each year, a group of keen apprentices join the SWDC to help inspire a new generation, and those selected will work alongside Serena Williams to bring their new creations to life. In 2023, the crew continues to expand their growing roster of work at the Swoosh.
Last year saw the arrival of two luxurious takes on the Nike Air Force 1 LXX, including a gold-embellished iteration and a crisp white take. This year, the SWDC are turning their attention to a 90s hardwood classic: the Nike Air More Uptempo. This iteration is dressed in dark obsidian with uppers constructed in denim that match the navy outsoles. Volt green stitching highlights the iconic ‘AIR’ branding. Elsewhere, hits of white can be found across the pairs on the heel Swooshes, interior and lacing system. Finally, dashes of space purple can be seen on the mini Swooshes.
