Puma

Puma

Founded by Rudolph Dassler in 1948, PUMA is a German sportswear company based in Herzogenaurach, Germany. PUMA is forever entwined with adidas, as Rudolph had a spectacular falling out with his brother Adolph Dassler, who famously started adidas. The most famous PUMA sneaker of all time is one of basketball’s first signature models. Known as the Clyde, the model was named after Walt ‘Clyde’ Frazier and is closely related to PUMA’s Suede model that was a huge part of New York b-boy culture. Over the years, PUMA athletes have included Pelé, Johan Cruyff, Diego Maradona, Boris Becker, Martina Navratilova, Linford Christie, Heike Drechsler, Mario Balotelli and Michael Schumacher. Today, PUMA is best known for their embrace of fashion and music, as collaborations with Rihanna, Kylie Jenner and Cara Delevingne have attracted a strong female sneakerhead following.
